Habitat for Humanity of Wayne County is an independent affiliate of Habitat for Humanity International, an ecumenical Christian ministry enlisting the support of people of all faiths who are drawn together by their concern for meeting the basic human need for decent housing. Our mission locally is to construct inexpensive but sturdy homes in partnership with qualified low-income families who might otherwise never be able to afford homes of their own. This is not a giveaway program.  In addition to putting in hundreds of hours of "sweat" equity 500 to be precise.  Partner families purchase their homes. We also express our concern globally by tithing ten percent of our unrestricted donations to HFHI to be used for the construction of homes in Latin America.

Come learn more about how Habitat works! Our meetings are held on the first Thursday of each month (except December) at the First Baptist Church on Church & 12th Streets in Honesdale, PA at 7:00 PM. Everyone is welcome; please bring a friend!
